Introduction
France has been a key player in driving the acceleration of the energy transition, a movement that gained momentum with the hosting of COP21 in 2015.
Committed to intensifying efforts for carbon emission reduction, France aims to achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement, specifically targeting limit of 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
At the recent COP 28 held in the UAE, Thailand made a commitment to reduce its carbon emissions by 30% to 40% by 2030. This aligns with their overarching goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.
In response to these shared commitments, Business France, the Trade department of the French Embassy in Thailand, decided to organize a second edition of the event previously held in Bangkok in 2022 dedicated to Decarbonization. If topics such as energy transition, green mobility and sustainability in the construction sector will be addressed again, we will be happy to cover a broader spectrum of topics this year. These include sustainable tourism, agricultural practices, and the production, packaging, and distribution of consumer goods.
The aim of this event is to convene representatives from both public and private institutions. The aim is to facilitate discussions and the exchange of insights on challenges and opportunities associated with strategies for reducing carbon emissions. We firmly believe that collaboration and empowerment within the green industry are crucial for ensuring a more sustainable future for generations to come.
