The Pollution Control Department is a departmental agency under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Thailand. It was established on April 4, 1992, as a result of the enactment of the National Environmental Quality Promotion and Maintenance Act of 1992.

Organization’s activities :

Major authority and responsibilities of Pollution Control Department are including

1)propose recommendations to develop policies and plans for promoting and maintaining national environmental quality in terms of pollution control ;

2)Recommend the establishment of environmental quality standards and pollution control standards from various sources ;

3)Develop environmental quality management plans for pollution management and measures to control, prevent, and solve problems arising from pollution conditions ;

4) Monitor, inspect, assess, and surveil environmental quality and prepare pollution situation reports ;

5)Develop knowledge, technology, laws, and conduct environmental sample testing to apply in waste management, hazardous substances, water quality, air quality, noise levels, and vibrations.
